Promotions » Love Handles Contest

The “Love Handle’ contest has now ended.

Deadline for all eligible contest entries was February 13, 2012 at 5:00 PM EST.

Congratulations to our grand prize winner of a $1,000 gift certificate to Perrywinkle’s :

Lisa Barkyoumb – “Bunny”

I guess it might sound a little cheesy, but I would call my husband “bunny”, it was my nickname for him, of course he hated it. His nickname for me was always just “Dear”. He learned pretty fast just to say “Yes Dear” whenever I would nagg at him. He  proposed to me on Valentines day of 2010, we were married Sept. 10. 2011 and my husband passed away on 01/21/12. We had only been married for four months. I had 5 wonderful years with him, and as stupid as calling him bunny always sounded, I miss being able to call him that everyday.

Sterling Silver Heart Pendant Winners:

Elaine Pitts – “Little Sassafras”

My husband  and I disliked each other for three years, and he used to call me miss ny priss. after we both drank wine at a friends house party, we had a good time talking about life  in general . we then went to dinner when he came to plattsburgh from vermont to  date me. we dated for one year and then he asked me to marry  him saying i was his little sasafras for ever, mind you i am 62 years old and  still his little sassafras, he calls me that every day and i love it . he is now a ny man with a huge heart for his little sassafras.

 Bethany McGrath-Riegel – “Sugie”

My boyfriend and I have been together almost 3 years now, and when we first starting dating he would call me “Sugie”.  I thought it was very cute and he told me it was short for “sugar”.  A few months later we traveled out of state to visit his grandparents in New Jersey, and I soon found out where he got it from!  His grandfather was walking around the kitchen calling his wife “sugie”.  Jeremy explained to me that he respected his grandfather and their marriage, lasting over 50 years, so he wanted to pass on the term and have me as his “sugie”.

Kelli Dubois – “Thumper & Flower”

When my husband and I started dating when I was 18 and he was 21, (12 years ago)we fell in love quickly and my brothers said we were “twitterpated,” a term that comes from the Disney movie, Bambi.  They started to call us Thumper and Flower, two characters from the movie, even though it didn’t totally fit as they are both male characters.  The names stuck.

Ann LaBier – “Honey Babe”

I call my husband “Honey Babe”. We have been together for 37 years, married for 33. He is my rock, best friend and the best husband I could have ever asked for. He never minds or gets embarrassed when I call him ”Honey Babe”, whether it is in front of family, friends or his coworkers. I started calling him this many years ago and amazingly he responds or answers me when I call him this but tends to ignore me when I call him Greg or Gregory. It really is too funny.

Jim Thatcher – “Itsy Bitsy & Idiot”

Years ago my wife and I were playing Scattergories with friends.  The letter was “I” and the scattergory was “Terms of Endearment”, my answer was “Itsy Bitsy” and my wife’s was “Idiot” – it kind of stuck.
